During this first decade of the 21st century, Brethren in Christ in North America will strive together for the fulfillment of this vision by concentrating on the following goals, moving forward in confidence that with God’s help, we will achieve our anticipated outcomes.
We will fast and pray for the life-changing grace of God to renew the church.
Anticipated Outcome: New (or renewed) practices of fervent prayer and fasting in every congregation to ask for the life-changing grace of God to renew the church.
We will strengthen distinguishing traits of health in our congregations.
Anticipated Outcome: 325 healthy congregations that are marked by the traits of passionate spirituality, inspiring worship, small group discipleship, active witness, loving relationships, empowering leadership, gift-oriented ministry, functional structures, and generous stewardship.
We will boldly declare the enduring biblical message with fresh words and enthusiasm.
Anticipated Outcome: Every congregation boldly declaring the enduring biblical message with fresh words and innovative communication methods.
Ambitious Church Planting
We will create partnerships within and among our congregations to start new churches.
Anticipated Outcome: 100 new (or restart) churches growing out of partnerships within and among existing BIC congregations.
We will actively respond to human need in the name of Christ.
Anticipated Outcome: Ministries in or among congregation(s) that actively respond to human need in the name of Christ.
We will mobilize for global witness and service, especially among the least-reached peoples of the world.
Anticipated Outcome: 100 missionaries mobilized for global witness and service from among our congregations, with 25 among the least-reached peoples of the world.
We will raise up and develop men and women as workers and leaders for an expanding network of congregations and ministries.
Anticipated Outcome: A strong team of workers and leaders in every congregation and ministry, mentored by a church-wide network of 750 credentialed pastors, church planters, and missionaries.
We will work to be increasing enriched by ethnic, cultural and racial diversity.
Anticipated Outcome: Every congregation enriched by ethnic, cultural, and racial diversity through ethnic church planting(s) or by “sister church” relationships between congregations.
