BIC Regional Conferences in Pa., to host immigration awareness seminar

—The Allegheny, Atlantic, and Susquehanna Conferences of the BIC Church, along with Mennonite Central Committee (MCC) East Coast, will host a BIC Immigration Awareness Seminar on Saturday, January 30, at Mt. Rock BIC Church (Shippensburg, Pa.).

The seminar will be led by Curtis Book, Peace and Justice Coordinator for MCC East Coast, and Grant Rissler, an immigration expert and Financial Resource Development Coordinator for MCC East Coast. It will have three foci: biblical and theological perspectives on “welcoming the stranger;” stories from BIC immigrants from Canada and Latin America; and the complexities of legal immigration in the U.S.

The seminar will be held from 9 a.m. to noon Eastern Time, and will include a soup-and-salad lunch, compliments of the Mt. Rock Church. The seminar is open to both pastors and interested lay people.

No registration is required. For more information, please contact Curtis Book via e-mail at cbook@mcc.org.
