Historical Society to host annual Heritage Service on June 5

—The Brethren in Christ Historical Society will host its 2011 Heritage Service on Sunday, June 5, at the historic Ringgold Meeting House in Smithsburg, Md. The hour-long service is scheduled to begin at 3 p.m.

The historic Ringgold Meeting House, site of the Brethren in Christ Historical Society's 2011 Heritage ServiceThe main speaker will be Warren Hoffman, moderator of the Brethren in Christ Church in North America, who will speak on “Biblical principles for maintaining a healthy spiritual life.”

Short testimonies on “A significant moment in my spiritual journey” will be given by Marilyn Smith, Glenn Brechbill, and Austin Hess. Vernon Martin will lead the congregational singing.

The historic Ringgold Meeting House—located at 14426 Misty Meadow Road, Smithsburg, Md., 21783—is the oldest still-standing church structure in the Brethren in Christ Church. During the service, an offering will be taken toward the cost of maintaining the historic Meeting House.
