Jonathan Lloyd steps into newly-formed role of Director of Finance and Human Resources for BIC U.S.
Mechanicsburg, Pa. (February 10, 2014)—National Director Alan Robinson, acting Executive Director of Finance, Andrew Steckbeck, and the General Church Board are pleased to welcome Jonathan Lloyd to the newly-formed role of Director of Finance and Human Resources for BIC U.S. Over the next months, Andrew Steckbeck will be transitioning out of the role of acting Director of Finance, but will continue to be available for consultation through this transition.
In this new role, Jonathan will oversee and administer finance and human resource functions for the General Church, including Brethren in Christ World Missions [BICWM]. Jonathan has a passion for the General Church to be a place where best-practices for finance and HR are administered in the love and grace of Jesus Christ.
A 1996 graduate of Messiah College (Grantham, Pa.), Jonathan holds a B.S. in Engineering. After graduation, he worked as a mechanical engineer and project manager for Master Solutions in Carlisle, PA. During this time, he pursued additional training in Bible and missiology from Columbia International University (Columbia, SC.) and Kingdom Building Ministries. In 2005, Jonathan and his wife, Erica, were deployed by BICWM to Malawi, Africa as church planters in a rural Muslim community. Following that assignment, Jonathan served as the business manager for the Evangelical Bible College of Malawi, where he enjoyed using his administrative skills to help believers from different denominational backgrounds work together to train church leaders. Since returning to the USA in December of 2010, Jonathan has served as the HR Manager for BICWM, where he has been responsible for the ongoing training, member care, and health care benefits for global workers. Jonathan received his Professional in Human Resource Certification in January of this year.
Jonathan and Erica are members of New Life Community BIC in Mt. Holly Springs, PA, where Jonathan serves on the stewardship team. He also serves as secretary of the Gospel Tide Board of Directors.
Jonathan brings to this role a personal calling to equip and support believers reaching out to their communities in Jesus’ name, both in the US and abroad. “I believe that the church has a responsibility to go to the difficult places, and within our denomination the general church is well-positioned to send and support those who have a calling to the least-reached. I also have a deep appreciation for believers like my brother who are called to live out their faith in their professional and community lives right here in the U.S. I love to help the church encourage, mobilize and equip our members in their mission callings wherever that takes them,” says Jonathan.
