Pathways Insitute for Lifelong Learning offers seniors a diverse array of spring classes
MECHANICSBURG, Pa. (Feb. 12, 2009)—Pathways Institute for Lifelong Learning, a program of BIC Church-affiliate Messiah Village (Mechanicsburg, Pa.), announces the start of its Spring 2009 term. More than 40 courses, events, and activities will be offered to older adults aged 60+ in the greater Harrisburg region, with opportunities to engage in mental, cultural, and spiritual activities promoting their overall wellness. Community membership is $60 per semester which entitles the member to attend five courses.
The term will begin with a kick-off event from 8:30-11 a.m. on February 17, 2009 in the Community Room on Messiah Village's campus.

Classes, cultural events and activities are developed to specifically meet the personal interests of older adults. In the Fall 2008 term, 166 seniors living in the Harrisburg, Pa., region participated in Pathways Institute offerings. 29 percent of the participating seniors were community members. In the fall, Pathways also opened a second location at Landis Homes to serve Lancaster County seniors.
Messiah Village, an affiliate of the Brethren in Christ Church, is a non-profit Continuing Care Retirement Community located on a beautiful 80-acre campus in Mechanicsburg, Pa. It offers a spectrum of services and accommodations for older adults and their families, including maintenance-free residential living cottages and apartments, assisted living, nursing care, memory support, and community services.
