Expansion begins at Messiah Village retirement community in Mount Joy, Pa.

MOUNT JOY, Pa. (Feb. 24, 209)—Mount Joy Country Homes (MJCH), a Messiah Village community located at 501 Union School Road in Mount Joy, Pa., announces plans to begin Phase 1 of a multi-year expansion plan. Country Homes is now accepting $500 (USD) priority deposits for those interested in reserving a cottage.

Seniors will enjoy maintenance-free living in one of three new floor plans, with cottages starting at 1,106 square feet. The single-level living cottages are designed without steps and feature wider doorways and hallways and walk-in showers for greater ease and accessibility. Equipped with Energy Star appliances and windows and constructed using environmentally-friendly materials, the cottages meet the National Association of Home Builders’ National Green Building Program Bronze standard.

The multi-year expansion plan will transform Country Home’s 8-acre retirement community to a 34-acre community with 114 cottages, a community center, assisted living for 20 residents, and commercial space. The first phase of this expansion project is scheduled to begin later this year with the addition of 10 to 24 new cottages.

“Based on the demand, we are anticipating we will break ground and begin building ten cottages this summer,” commented Carl Ginder, vice president of strategic development at Messiah Village and a leader overseeing the operations and development of MJCH.

Country Homes offers reasonably priced, maintenance-free living. Residents pay a partially refundable entrance fee and a monthly fee.

More information about this expansion plan is available by visiting www.mjch.org. Community members are also invited to visit Country Home’s new Design Center. Call 717-653-2356 for an appointment.

Currently, Country Homes includes 39 cottages and a community center. This retirement community, founded in 1984, is an affiliate of the Brethren in Christ General Church of North America, as well as Messiah Village, a non-profit continuing care retirement community located on a beautiful 80-acre campus in Mechanicsburg, Pa.
