Annual Heritage Service to be held at Ringgold

GRANTHAM, Pa. (May 1, 2008)—The Brethren in Christ Historical Society extends a warm invitation to its Annual Heritage Service on Sunday, June 1, from 3:00-4:00 p.m. at the Ringgold Meeting House in Smithsburg, Md.

The Society is pleased to present John Graybill, a well-known leader in the BIC Church, as the event’s main speaker. He and his wife, Lucille, spent 45 years with BIC World Missions in Japan, 16 of those years as mission superintendent. He has written of his experiences in Japan in his book, Our Journey into the Heart of Japan. John is now Presiding Elder of the United Christian Church. He resides in the Lebanon Valley Brethren Home in Palmyra, Pa. At the Heritage Service, he will speak on “Our Common Heritage.”

Joining John as speakers are Nelson Byers and Nathaniel Fickett. The evening will also feature the music of the New Guilford Men’s Quartet, a group comprised of Frank Kipe, Gerald Wingert, Laban Wingert, and Nelson Wingert, who have been singing together since the 1940s.
