Allegheny Conference
At the requests of their youth, Rio-Arendtsville (Acts Fellowship), Shippensburg, PA, began meeting two Saturdays a month at the Peace Light BIC, McKnightsville, PA •
New Guildford, Chambersburg, PA hosted “The Sweet Life” Dessert Comedy Theater with family comedian, Scott Davis and special guest, singer/songwriter Billy Lord who leads worship weekly with Mark Hall of Casting Crowns • Mt. Rock, Shippensburg, PA participated in a corporate worship night at the Trojan Stadium • Mt. Tabor, Mercersburg, PA, Men’s Group sponsored a guided tour of the Gettysburg Battlefield. Their VBS project raised over $500.00 for sending Bibles to China. Twelve people went to Branwell, WV for a missions project.
Atlantic Conference
Every Saturday a team from Manor BIC, Lancaster, PA, faithfully distributes a meal to their homeless friends in the city. Also, Sunday's worship in the park was another link in the chain connecting Manor Church with "the Church" regardless of economic or social status.
Canadian Conference
An eleven person team from Living Faith, Chatham, ON went on a mission trip to Mexico • Orchard Creek Fellowship, Thorold, ON, recently had Friend Day with may guest present and a new small group for young women is starting in Port Robinson • Riverside Community, Fort Erie, ON held a special service, “Pulling Together Sunday,” honoring the farmers in their area. Also a series on 1 Corinthians and presenting God’s views on extremely serious but real issues in life, and a fun ‘Men’s Appreciation Night’ •
Rosebank, Petersburg, ON, held a “Rosebank Corn Festival” outreach event with 10,000 homes receiving flyers • Pastor David Opperthauser and a number of his congregation from Sauble Beach, ON organized a missions trip to Mission of Hope in Haiti • Sherkston, ON, held an outdoor service for all the Fort Erie BIC churches with guests speakers, Bruce and Merly Bundy • Stayner, ON will be celebrating their 130th Anniversary on October 19 • The Wainfleet congregation, ON, hosted a concert with Randy Stonehill
Great Lakes Conference
The Bridge @ Beans, Sterling, IL is hosting Friday and Saturday night happenings, with a coffee shop outreach to seekers that attracts about 50-60 each evening. They also have a mid-week Bible study for serious seekers • Through Pastor David Espinosa’s training and challenge, five teams (11 people) went out visiting and inviting people to Christ and to Iglesia El Buen Pastor, Springfield, OH, in April • Fourteen people from King of Glory, Streetsboro, OH went on a missions trip to Matamoras, Mexico • Mooretown, Sandusky, MI, is holding an informal summer outreach through softball. They also did a drama called the “Last Supper” and as a result three new people made commitments to Christ • Pastor Matt Lewis, has concluded his sixteen years of ministry in planting and nurturing the New Vision congregation, Pewaukee, WI on July 8th, and begins directing the Ashland based Pastors of Excellence program • Union Grove, New Paris, IN, held a “Friend Sunday” and were able to provide assistance to a visitor that attended.
Midwest Conference
LifeHouse, Abilene, KS, has been doing a “Countdown to Launch” series where they looked at primary values of the church such as Outward-Focused, People-Accepting, Servant-Producing, and Christ-Proclaiming • Revolution, Salina, KS, did a summer series called “30 Days to Live” where they explored priorities in life and asked what would be different if they only had 30 days to live • In June, New Trail Fellowship, Abilene, KS, moved to the Livestock Show Arena and have now started a second service on Monday night. They hosted a Horsemanship Clinic for those new to horses. They held a “Horsin’ Around Sunday” with 31 horses and riders and had a lot of fun after church which included games and simply riding around.
Pacific Conference
This summer, GracePoint, Ontario, CA has intentionally been building relationships with families and friends outside the church by showing movies in their neighborhood, an all-church softball game, and a fiesta night • Peace Fellowship, Claremont, CA had a Summer Series on Theology and Film – each film was followed by a potluck, worship and film discussion.
