Meet Jim and Sonia Bridge
In 2013, Jim and Sonia Bridge set out for Tegucigalpa, Honduras. Intending to direct the BIC U.S.' STEP program, plans changed when a U.S. travel warning caused leadership to suspend sending youth as interns to Honduras. In a new country and with their original plans drastically changed, Jim and Sonia decided to surrender and trust God fully. No one can do everything, but everyone can do something
For the past two years, Hollowell BIC in Waynesboro, Pa., has been working to educate their community about the horrors of human trafficking. Through educational forums, Hollowell is focused on empowering educators to both recognize the signs of human trafficking and take a stand against it. We celebrate the ways Hollowell is making a kingdom impact in this area of ministry. Read more »

New Life for New Life
"Beautifully messy" are the words pastor Ryan Brown uses to describe his congregation. And as a community of deeply relational people, New Life Community Church in Carlisle, Pa. is committed to journeying with those often overlooked by society: the homeless, the mentally-ill, the broken. Recently celebrating twenty years of ministry and the move into a new building, we're excited to see how God continues to use this congregation in a new season of ministry. Read more »

1984: a good year
Out of curiosity last month, BIC U.S. national director Alan Robinson dusted off an old copy of the 1984 General Conference Minutes. Interested in learning more about the kinds of conversations taking place then, he began reading a section discussing the tensions found in missions work.
