Who We Are

Brethren in Christ Council for Women in Ministry and Leadership

Vision: Encouraging divinely gifted women to fulfill their call to ministry and leadership.

Objectives:

    1. Proclaim biblical truth about the call to ministry and leadership in the body of Christ.
    2. Provide support systems and opportunities for networking among women in ministry and leadership.
    3. Promote education and resources related to women in ministry and leadership in the church.

Definition of the Council: Membership in the Council is open to women and men who support the biblical view of women in ministry and leadership, and have read, understood, and affirm the Core Values of the Brethren in Christ. Membership will be determined by yearly dues, set by the Leadership Team. Dues will be used to support the activities of the Council, including the publication of the Council’s periodic newsletter, the Diakonos. Communication among members will be through the Council’s newsletter, by e-mail, and on the web site. A biennial meeting of the Council will be held at the BIC General Conference, with the probability of other events being held throughout the year.  All dues-paying members will be eligible to vote.
